Clint Eastwood makes one hell of a cop, but it turns out he's a great robber, too. The Artist Formerly Known as Dirty Harry takes on a buoyant crime caper in this 1974 classic, as a notorious bank thief who gets the old gang together for a heist so nice they'll pull it off twice. A fresh-faced Jeff Bridges is the Lightfoot to Eastwood's Thunderbolt, and truth be told, he darn near steals the show from a powerful ensemble that includes Gary Busey, George Kennedy and a pre-"Daisy Duke" Catherine Bach. Bottom line: it's charming to see a young, virile Eastwood having a hoot with the boys and putting one over on the man, a good quarter century before he'll shake his fist and utter the phrase "Get off my lawn."
