The Yellow Handkerchief

You know it's a tearjerker when they mention hankies in the title. William Hurt puts on a quiet tour de force as Brett, an ex-con who's fresh out of jail and looking for a ride. He finds it with an unlikely pair of youngsters: a pretty backwoods babe (Kristen Stewart) who's never been far from her rural Louisiana home, and a gawky drifter (Eddie Redmayne) who's still more boy than man. Their stories intertwine against a lush Southern backdrop where beauty and sorrow go hand in hand.
