The Bad News Bears trope gets a dose of grrrl power, as down and out dishwasher Sam Rockwell takes over coaching duties for a suburban high school girls' varsity basketball squad. Led by captain Emma Roberts, the misfit Plainview Chargers don't know much about the game - and even less about team spirit. Together with their new coach, they'll learn how to earn respect on and off the court, even if that means throwing a few punches along the way.
