Grandfather owl tells his grandchildren about a war between the yellow and the redants long, long ago, in which Problemina, a beautiful yellow ant, is captured by the red ants; while a captive, she falls in love with Trin-Trin, the red ant leader. Before a climactic battle, both sides are attached by an anteater, and hide in the roots of an ancient tree. When the anteater eventually gives up, both sides celebrate their survival, and agree to live together in peace and harmony.
