The Inspector - Le Escape Goat

When Louie Le Fink escapes from the INSPECTOR as he is being escorted to prison, the INSPECTOR loses his job. He knows the only way to be reinstated is to recapture Louie. Louie has sworn to get even with the Police Commissioner for sending him up Le River. So the INSPECTOR sticks close to the Commissioner. But each time Louie strikes - with a bomb, trying to run the Commissioner over with a truck - it looks like the handiwork of the INSPECTOR. The Commissioner has the whole police force out looking for the renegade cop. And then outside the Commissioner's window, it's a life and death struggle between Louie and the INSPECTOR. Louie is trying to stab the Commissioner in the back. The INSPECTOR takes the knife from the would-be assassin and leaps through the window after the fleeing Louie. Yelling "You swine!" the INSPECTOR takes a swipe at Louie with the knife but ends up stabbing the Commissioner's desk. The INSPECTOR has trouble explaining this one and ends up in jail. But there, in a cell, he manages to save the Commissioner's life and demonstrates it was Louie behind the death plots all along.
