A series of impossible jewel robberies take place beneath the INSPECTOR's very nose. At last the INSPECTOR discovers that an impudent crow is responsible for these thefts. The INSPECTOR makes use of an airplane to pursue the wily crow which leads him into a collision with the bells of Notre Dame Cathedral. When, at last, the INSPECTOR has trailed the elusive crow to his nest atop a telephone pole, where all of the crow's loot is stashed, he is not better off. He cannot get up to the nest to recover the jewels. As a last resort, after a series of personal calamities, the INSPECTOR uses an old tried and true device. He puts salt on the crow's tail. But in the end the crow succeeds in turning public opinion against the INSPECTOR who loses his badge in the melee.
