David Rhodes, a mild-mannerd conscientious bookkeeper, innocently becomes involved with a bank robber who awards him 5000 pounds for saving his life. Just by coincidence, it is found out that David's books do not balancew and his accounts are short 5000 pounds! David accidentally drops the money on the floor in the office and he is suspected of embezzling. To throw a little romance into the picture, David is sweet on co-worker Daphne, and co-worker Nancy is sweet on David, and Daphne is sweet on the assistant manager, Ian Tydings.
