Star Trek Generations

It's the 23rd Century, where the retired Kirk (William Shatner), Scotty (James Doohan), and Chekov (Walter Koenig) are guests aboard the new Enterprise-B. When the ship's test-run unexpectedly hits a mysterious time-shifting energy ribbon called The Nexus, Kirk is lost. Jumping forward 75 years, Picard, Riker, Data, and the crew of the Enterprise-D encounter a physicist named Soran (Malcolm McDowell), who will do anything to enter The Nexus, a place where anything is possible, according to Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg). When Picard tests The Nexus, finding the warmth of family he never knew, he realises its potential, and teams up with Kirk, who's lost therein, to destroy it.
