A convoy and its cavalry escort are ambushed while crossing Cheyenne country. There are only two survivors : Honus, a soldier, and Cresta - a young girl en route to meet her fiancÚ, and they try to reach the nearest fort. After a series of adventures, they join the Cheyennes and warn them about an impending cavalry attack. Despite raising a white flag, the Cheyennes are slaughtered. Honus is imprisoned and Cresta, who has shot her fiancÚ in battle, decides to settle among the Indians.
