She's Gotta Have It

Sex? Love? Independence? Everything? The titular "It" in Spike Lee's first feature film may still be up for debate more than 25 years later, but the movie's impact on a burgeoning independent cinema scene is without question. Shot in Brooklyn for next to nothing, the story explores the complicated love life of Nora Darling, a fiercely self-sufficient layout artist who rebels against the idea of settling down with just one man. Her three simultaneous lovers, however, have their own opinions about the arrangement.
