There was a time when slumdogs could not become millionaires simply by outsmarting the Mumbai equivalent of Regis Philbin.  But even without the hope of a game show payday, poor Indian boy Krishna makes the most of his life on the streets in this 1988 drama. Many of the young actors appearing in the film were actual street children; it's hard not to wonder, decades later, what's become of them in real life.
