This one goes out to anyone who’s ever loved a woobie. Michael Keaton’s lovable oaf of a stay-at-home dad takes us on a radical trip in the old wayback machine, to a time when Tupperware was cause for a party and housewives weren’t so desperate. In between a litany of sight gags—the vacuum cleaner is a monster! the kitchen’s on fire!—a sweet relationship movie unfolds before our eyes, as Keaton and Teri Garr prove that times haven’t changed that much. We still haven’t figured out how to balance a love life, a family and a career… and 35 cents off laundry detergent is suddenly worth getting excited over again.
