1. In "Looking for Mr. Goodbar," the unfortunate events were inspired by the 1973 real-life murder of twenty-seven year old New York City schoolteacher, Roseanne Quinn.
2. When the two leads in "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" meet in a bar, actress Diane Keaton is seen reading "The Godfather." Actor Richard Gere comments that he has seen the movie. Actress Diane Keaton knows the film well, she appeared in it.
3. Director Richard Brooks hired documentary photographer Mary Ellen Mark to take pictures of random bars to later play during the opening credits of  "Looking for Mr. Goodbar." Her work was rejected by the director because the photos were "too realistic." Sometimes it doesn't pay to be too good at your craft.
