Like Crazy

What, relationships aren't tricky enough without getting immigration lawyers involved? While attending college in the states, British beauty Anna falls madly in love with her American classmate Jacob - but their happily ever after hits a major snag when Anna violates the terms of her visa and is deported back to the UK. Can the flush of first love sustain itself through the challenges of a long distance relationship? Stars Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin explore joy, heartache and the quiet moments in between in a mostly improvised script.

1. Big time accolades: the movie took home the Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
2. You're a guy, she's a girl... Go! The dialogue in the film is fully improvised by the actors.
3. Write what you know: writer/director Drake Doremus based the film's plot on his own experiences falling in love with his ex-wife, who was born in Austria.
4. Penny-pinching techniques: the film was shot using the inexpensive Canon EOS 7D DSLR camera.
5. Big love story, shoestring budget: Like Crazy was made for under $250,000.
6. Awesome homecoming: director Drake Doremus returned to the Orange County High School of the Arts, where he'd been a teacher, to screen the film for his former students.
7. Chips, salsa and awkward conversation: after being cast in the film, stars Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones decided to meet at a Mexican restaurant in LA to get to know each other.
8. D$#@*!! A bit of R-rated language had to be removed from the film to score a PG-13 rating for a wide release.
9. Selling like hotcakes: the movie was acquired jointly by Paramount Vantage and Indian Paintbrush during the Sundance Film Festival.
10. Kudos, leading lady: Felicity Jones won a Special Jury Prize at Sundance for her performance, as well as a National Board of Review Award and the Breakthrough Award at the Gotham Awards.
