New Kick-Ass Character Posters

Lionsgate unveils two new characters posters for its action-adventure Kick-Ass, based on the comic of the same name. The film is creating a ton of buzz on the Internet and it’s scheduled to premiere this week at the SXSW Film Festival. Kick-Ass hits theaters nationwide April 16th.

The New Age Best Pictures

Within the past decade we’ve seen some non-traditional Best Picture winners - or films that wouldn’t strike you as a Best Picture considering the film’s it was nominated against. Some examples are Crash and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King; however, when considering this year’s winner The Hurt Locker, seems like the typical Oscar movie might be a thing of the past.

Avatar Eyeing Re-release

Looks like James Cameron wants to eclipse the $800 million mark. Fox is currently in talks to re-release Avatar in late-summer and including new scenes which were cut from its theatrical release. The film would be primarily released in 3D IMAX.

The Ultimate Sketch Comedy Movie

The much talked about Untitled-sketch comedy feature film will be directed by a slew of directors including Peter Farrelly, Brett Ratner and Bob Odenkirk among many more. The film will star Naomi Watts, Kate Winslet, Gerard Butler, Hugh Jackson, Chloe Moretz and many more. Some speculate it will be similar to such classics as Amazon Women on the Moom and Kentucky Fried Movie.

Coen Bro’s True Grit Gets Pepper

Actor Barry Pepper has joined the cast of the Coen brother’s remake of 1969’s True Grit. The cast already includes Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin. Pepper’s notable credits include Saving Private Ryan, Enemy of the State and The Green Mile.

Preview of Weekend Box Office

Alice in Wonderland is picked as this weekend’s favorite to repeat as number one at the box office. Alice’s main competition is Green Zone starring Matt Damon. Also opening is Remember Me with Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and the R-rated comedy She’s Out of My League.

Segel and Helms Live at Home

Jason Segel and Ed Helms are set to star in a new Paramount comedy directed and written by brothers Mark and Jay Duplass. The film is titled Jeff Who Lives at Home and produced by Jason Reitman’s company Right Way Films.

New Poster for Disney’s Tron

Disney unveils a new poster for their epic sequel Tron Legacy. Their marketing campaign is in full swing as the new full length trailer is attached to the Alice in Wonderland. By the looks of it, this one should be groundbreaking and might go hand in hand with the IMAX 3D experience.
