San Francisco, 1952. During the height of the McCarthy witch hunts, a young FBI agent spins a case out of air against a Chinese laundry worker and has him imprisoned as a Communist spy. His conscience soon catches up to him and soon he sets forth to make amends with the imprisoned man's daughter.
