Let's face it: some dads suck. Like Roy (James Caan), who uses his young son Arlis as a decoy to break into the home of a sleeping family. The crime goes wrong and Roy kills everyone inside, except for a baby girl he overlooked. 30 years later, Arlis (Dennis Quaid) is still haunted by the memories of that night. Then he falls for Kay (Meg Ryan), a woman who confesses she was orphaned as a baby. Yes, it's a small world.
