In Gus Van Sant's breakout directorial effort, Matt Dillon plays ringleader to a group of junkies who split their time between getting high and knocking off pharmacies so they can stay high. When their carefree lifestyle begins to unravel, this drug-fueled wild bunch must determine which is more dangerous - the substances they crave, or the relationships they've come to rely on.
