Dave Austin is investigating a murder. He pretends to be an outlaw and is introduced to Apache Joe, the killer. He also meets the man who runs the money between Apache Joe and his boss, named Dan Drury. Austin takes a job on Drury's ranch to get closer to the people, but soon he is in deep trouble when Drury's sister reveals his identity.
