Michael J. Fox plays Jamie Conway, an aspiring writer whose life is crumbling around him: his fashion model wife walked out, his mother recently passed away, and his day job as a fact-checker is tenuous at best. What's a troubled yuppie to do? If it's Manhattan in the 1980s, he hits the clubs with his best bud Kiefer Sutherland and drowns himself in booze, drugs and women. For Fox, the role's a far cry from the likes of Marty McFly and Alex P. Keaton - unless you count that episode of Family Ties where Alex got hooked on speed.
