Dr. Peter Morgan, the hospital's newest intern, joins the staff of young doctors and nurses led by the unkempt and brashly irreverent cardiac specialist, Dr. Leonard Sturgess. The hospital's Executive Director and Chief of Medicine, Dr. Henry Dreyfoos and Dr. Leo Krutz use government regulation Article 99 to disallow patient benefits. It's no retreat and no surrender when the medical staff and their patients decide to align forces to fight the hospital bureaucracy.
