Cleveland disc jockey Alan Freed brings rock & roll to the masses in yet another feverish 1970s take on those glorious fifties. Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Screamin' Jay Hawkins appear as themselves, while a delightfully young Jay Leno shows off his burgeoning passion for driving classic cars. Despite the uproar of Cleveland's Lawrence Welk fans, that newfangled sound takes hold-to quote Tracy Turnblad, you can't stop the beat.
